What negative publicity might that be. Most of the members of my family were saying at thanksgiving dinner that they would *not* hit the malls today because it was easier to shop for christmas online.

I'm doing my christmas shopping online today because I get free shipping.

I think EGGS will continue to rise. The only thing that will stop it is if they post a greater than expected loss next quarter. They have the largest float of any of the internet/ecommerce/auction companys at 17 mil, but the total number of shares outstanding(24 mil) is on par with some, ONSL at 19, but way below ebay at 40 mil. So I think there is nothing to hold this stock back as long as it is truly considered an internut. Next week we will see if it has actually been accepted into the club or if it gets kicked out.

EGGS does not look better than COOl, which was down more than 6 points. When one is hurry for an exit, he is taking profits on other one who is hyping the stock.

As I mentioned in the previous post, if BAMM could trade up 200% right after a Smith Barney serious downgrade and KTEL closed at nearly 50% higher than the previous day despite delisting threat and massive lawsuits, I really don't see EGGS not surging more in the next week.

This Internet mania may end one day, but it doesn't look like it will be any time soon. There may be some profit taking dips, but I really believe the hype would simply rotate in the sector. Seldom a person who holds volatile stocks overnight, I am actually holding sizable positions of EGGS, NAVR, AMEN, SDTI and a bit of ONSL and BAMM over the weekend, and what's more important, I have been sleeping very well.

Re: "going to come to an end very soon."

Ah, that's the $64,000 question. It is going to come to an end (not just Egghead, but all of the others that are "out of this world" with absurd multiples (or infinite, e.g. no earnings at all)). The question is when. Stocks in companies much smaller and less "real" than Egghead have been pushed above $200/share, including E-Bay, one of the most absurd of the bunch.

Bottom line, it could end tomorrow or six months from now. With the high having been 31 or 231. My guess is that with the holiday season upon us, and given Egghead's still low price compared to some of these others, the end is not imminent, but could come in late Dec. or January (especially if results are posted). On the other hand, if results are positive, the "end" could make even today's prices look cheap.

Of course significant news could change all of this, and it could happen in either direction.

Anyone know when the next quarterly earnings report comes out ?

[by the way, I have a position in EGGS, so I'm hoping that the end is still a ways off].
