The index shouldn't scare a short. The volume and the strong close today should.

Except that a lot of mom and pops -- people that would never want to buy an internet stock, per se -- might want to "take a small chance" on the internet stocks by buying into such a fund in their pension plan. After seeing the moves that 'internet stocks' have been taking, my bet is that there's a lot of people who wouldn't mind taking that risk. And a few managers that wouldn't mind selling them a piece of such a fund.
