Tae,

TDFX has already told me, in very clear language, that a merger with nVidia would NEVER happen. Personality differences/ business culture, etc.

As for balance sheets, perhaps you weren't in on the TDFX IPO...our sales were negligible. We were losing money hand over fist. 6 months after the IPO we started really hitting a stride. Meanwhile, nVidia just whipped out a 50Million quarter (more than we scored in the whole year of our IPO) and a decent profit. Not to mention nice momentum. I wouldn't say that they look any worse on paper than we did at IPO- I would say they look better. This isn't to say that their financials look particularly good- just not any worse than TDFX.

Lookit that volume...whooo! blowing me away!

The financial reasons for doing it privately to another company rather than doing an IPO can be very pursuasive but in this tulip market the IPO will probably be over-subscribed a zillion to 1. After all, there is always TNT.com.

PS: didn't ASND trademark the TNT name on that amazing COMMS/switch they did a year or so back?

PSS: TNT only works on Pentium II systems, right? I wonder how many older systems will still want a TDFX card.
