Well, it takes all kinds, doesn't it. I should think left-foot socks on the left and right-foot socks on the right would be far more logical, more in line with The Divine Plan.
Unless a person was left-handed, of course.

One must be careful not to get off on the wrong foot.

Bill, do you separate your white socks from your colored ones? I used to until my wife uttered the dreaded "m" word. That's right: metaphor. So I then began to just toss the whole unsorted lot into my sock drawer. But, alas, all those cohabitating entangled socks didn't sit well with my wife either. So now I match them up, without bias of course. Takes a bit more time getting dressed in the morning, but that's a small price to pay for harmony.
