Yeah Web, there's a sea change here and it can't be explained by MM's, momentum investors, or daytraders. I doubt line two is the reason. Also, it doesn't seem likely that this obscure little company could be the subject of a completely vacuous bubble like Books a Million. The assumption that someone knows something about a PO is a little too facile, but what the hey, sometimes the obvious answer is the right one.

Web,
I agree, and originally asked the question not insofar as it applies to the current run in the stock price, but in terms of the potential impression that could be made on visiting analysts. In going back and reviewing posts immediately following the most recent conference call, my interpretation, which is more in line with what Tickertype stated, is that the line was expected to pass testing within a week (from the 11/5 call) and that it could be producing batteries shortly (within weeks not months) after it was received. I also agree with your assessment that line two has nothing to do with the current increase in the stock price. I simply think that showing off products for two distinct markets has its advantages in the short term, once a PO is announced and everyone starts trying to crank numbers on a quarter by quarter basis for next year.

Web, like others, I don't connect the recent runup with the situation vis-a-vis line 2.

Although it's never been confirmed to my satisfaction, some have said that line 2 had undergone a fair amount of testing in NI and then been shipped back to Arcotronics for modifications. Some have also been under the impression that once the line was running satisfactorily in Italy, there would be no need for extensive new testing in NI. True, neither line may yet be up to their potential speeds, but they may be running satisfactorily at some level. My comment about analysts seeing batteries coming off both lines were not meant to imply that they'd be running at maximum capacity, but that they at least would be running.

The comparison with ULBI's experience may or may not be valid, as the state of readiness of the line is a function of how far it was developed at the manufacturer's end. As for shipping, I thought UPS goes everywhere now, even Mallusk! Seriously though, that line can surely be crated and put on a semi, then driven through the "chunnel" to the UK and onto a ferry to NI without much delay. Trucks cross Europe these days like they do the US. I'd guess less than a week on the road. But hey, if someone has more precise information, I'd be pleased to hear it.

It's Lev's comments about the line being in NI before Dec 1 that leads me to conclude that it is probably there by now. They'll need some time to get it bolted down and test run, and I think they'll want to have product going down the line for the visual affect it creates.
