There seems to be a lot of attention paid to the remarks by Appleton that they were selling below cost. When they were selling at under $8 and costs were above $8 that was true. But that was last quarter, and so what? You shorts already got the benefit of that in last quarter's horrible earnings.

Since then a lot of things have happened. First, they raised prices early in the quarter. Second, they switched to .21µ early in the quarter. And third, they closed the TI acquisition which messes completely with the financial picture in a way that none of us really understands. Even the analysts don't know exactly what will happen which is why they are willing to treat TI earnings (losses) as non-recurring.

Is MU currently selling below cost? No way.
