MU is still hiring -- engineers. They have had a problem getting people as operators for the last few years. There has been a mandatory overtime for operators in the Test area; to weed through the backlog of failed parts needing to be re-tested. This was to be two months seven months ago.

Right now attrition is their way of laying off; that includes people being "let go". Of every 10 new employees, only 3 make it more than a year. In a town that has a population of about 150,000 that is hard to fill year in and year out. Once you have left MU, it is VERY hard to come back in. Most times, it would take an approval from upper management or even Steve A himself. Remember this is the company who had EVERY applicant interview with the CEO; when Joe Parkinson was there.

The smokestacks are not smoke stacks at all. This is a way to let off filtered air from processing into the environment. They will run the same almost all of the time, but are more noticeable when the weather is colder of the humidity changes.

If you can get to the dock to see the number of crates, you have a Micron sticker on your car. Security is a little tight in the midst of the buildings where the docks are. Then there are several docks too.
