funk,

I agree on premarket. I have filled on ISLD and ARCA well before the open, but the only way to get an accurate quote is to call in. Prints do give you a clue, but not as accurate as what the broker can see on Instanet. The best way is to call in. you can generally make a trade that way because Instanet is very happening then.

Thanks for the response. I guess next time I have one that I definitely want I'll call it in. I think I did have a T & S window open at the time but wasn't seeing any trades.

funk, thanks for the reply concerning the $5 deal MB is running. Called them myself today. The deal is for two months, 5$ per trade if trade is 300 shares or less (and these trades do not count towards free data feed)
thanks again,
schoch

ECNS (including Instinent ) are one way of trading preopen. you either need to take out an offer, hit a bid or make it your bid or offer, no different than during the market hours except volume is much lower.

SNET doesnt come online till 9am i believe so it is no use until 9am. You can't obligate a market maker to do anything preopen but certain firms are willing to trade preopen, yet there is always a premium to it.

Personally speaking, I would look for an offer to take out by an ECN (snet preferring or REDIbook preferencing an offer wont work as noone except an ECN is obligated to do anything preopen).

BTW...if anyone has other questions like this, please ask or post them on the thread above.
