Clinton's Clock

A guy dies and goes to Heaven. When he arrives, St. Peter says "I'm
having a slow day, why don't you let me show you around ?" The guy
thinks this is a great idea and graciously accepts the offer. St. Peter
shows him all the sights. The golf course, the library, the observation
room, the cafeteria and the game room.
Eventually, they come to a room full of clocks and the guy asks
"what's up with all the clocks ?" St. Peter explains "everyone on earth
has a clock that shows how much time they have left to live. When the
clock runs out of time, the person dies and comes to the gates to be
judged." The guy thinks this makes sense, but notices that some clocks
are running faster than others and he asks "why is that ?" St. Peter
explains,"every time a person tells a lie, it speeds up his clock."
This also makes sense, so the guy takes one last look around the room
and notices one clock on the ceiling in the middle of the room that has
both hands spinning at an unbelievable rate of speed so he asks,
"what's the story with that one ?"
"Oh that," replies St. Peter. "That's Bill Clintons clock. We decided
to use it as a ceiling fan !!!!"

McCarthy was surrounded by communists and managed to hit mostly innocent people.

Starr's target is precisely defined, and he hit it dead center.

>Basically the reason I think that history will not smile too kindly on Star is the same reason it has not smiled on Joe Mcarthy.<

There is quite a difference between McCarthy and Starr. Of course you are probably correct concerning history in that it will take thinking people to tell the difference.

>I do believe Star has over stepped his bounds. I think history will look more to the accomplishments of the Clinton reign [not that they are legion or anything ]<

Perhaps. I think it assured that Starr will return to his private life where he will prosper. On the other hand Clinton will continue his life of filth and emptiness. Without a political office his suffering will be more evident, at least to those closest to him. Today Kenneth Starr, from what I have seen thus far, is an honorable man. He discharged his duties thoroughly and professionally. Over forty criminals have been harvested as a result of his investigations, and according to his prosecutors it was all done in compliance with commonly accepted prosecutorial techniques. We must await the verdict on the alleged leaks. Starr has given me no reason thus far to doubt his integrity. I therefore believe him when he claims he did not leak information to the press. What others may have done within his organization is ultimately out of his control, nevertheless in that he believes nothing improper happened even here, I am prone to trust also that it did not. I calmly expect him to be victorious here as he has been in virtually every occasion he has been before the courts concerning Bill Clinton. How history will look upon the two men is nothing we can now tell. I nevertheless repeat again the obviousness to reasonable people which of the two can be trusted. To these people, Bill Clinton will go down as the incorrigible sleazemeister he is. Ken Starr will ever be an honorable man. The rest is quite irrelevant.

><<Humans tend not to call them selves the things that in fact they are>>
??Not sure I understand this one. Himmm...I hope this wasn't a shot... ;>] I was referring to Clinton and Star...<

Then it wasn't a shot.

In my view that if anything good came from the Lewinsky ordeal, it is that I was given the truth by Mr. Ken Starr. It is Mr. Starr who wears the white hat, and while I am saddened that our country has produced and championed the likes of Bill Clinton, I am honoured that it has produced the likes of Kenneth Starr.
