By CNET News.com Staff
November 27, 1998, 4:00 a.m. PT

special feature Estimates vary widely on exactly how much shoppers will spend online this holiday season, but almost all the projections are leaps and bounds above those of 1997. Shopkeepers and analysts have been busy preparing for what they expect will be the year e-commerce truly goes mainstream, as Net users shed their fears and wield their credit cards.

E-shopping's coming-out party

news analysis Analysts say e-commerce is ready to blast into the mainstream this holiday season, though there are still some areas where online shopping has room to improve.

Net shopkeepers optimistic

As the holidays approach, Net merchants are already noticing an increase in business from last year's fourth quarter.

Commerce eclipsing content

While portals continue to attract hordes of Netizens searching for free information and services, they have increasingly seen that ad-supported content is not enough to survive on the Web.

Good Evening

Like your idea about Dell Mart. Another point which is most frustrating is the fact that IBM has been constantly reaching new highs and today the stock was up 3 points to 170. What is the reason for this. Analyst even down grade IBM and the stock keeps rising. Michael needs to do something about his ailing stock price. Dell is definately not getting any respect these days. People are too interested in making a killing on the internet stocks and ignoring Dell. I don't blame them

Best Wishes
Frank

Ken_Kasman@Dell.com

You might compose your own e-mail or copy the one below:

Dear Mr. Kasman:

I believe that you will agree that e-commerce if the wave of the
future. Dell sells $ 10 million/day on the internet, but Wall Street is
not viewing Dell as an internet company.

Please suggest to Michael Dell and the Board of Directors to form a new
subsidiary to be called DELLMART which will engage an e-commerce other
than computers. DELLMART will sell direct many merchandise. Direct Sell
is DELL's strength. Please capitalize on it. Let DELLMART become the
Wal-Mart of the internet.

The mere announcement of Dell planning DELLMART will propel the stock.

Thank you for your assistance and consideration.

Sincerely,
