<<< I'm holding some Jan 70s here. Any thoughts on hold vs. roll out? I haven't traded Dell enough to know how it typically performs in this situation. Although with earning growth apparently topping out, this may be a new, less momentous world for Dell. Any advice from veteran dellheads would be appreciated. >>>>
Dell is a vanilla stock, plain flavored to the extent nobody
including the most ferocious bulls have been able to guess its actual futures price gains. In Jan it was $82( which is $20 1/2 share) with guesses it might reach 120 which would be $40 share.
It did a bit better and hit $73/sh once. G
I have no problem whatever with its present performance, Feb earnings should be real outstanding. Am here in Houston with an xxx employee talking about needing a Dell laptop. He can get it wholesale
meaning xxx uses Dells and employees get a discount buying for their personal use. Helps Dell business.
From time to time I follow Venkies or Gregs hot picks, and I hand out picks like Yhoo. So I have calls on Onsl and Mspg
and omkt and stock in Aol,Yhoo, and Rmbs. Must have made $22k today on
a few calls. Don't need Dell to move yet, but I have about 6 of the Dec 70 calls costing $1 1/2. My hope being the internut mania will subside a bit which will cause some to return to buying Dell in the next three weeks. I still expect Dell to be around $100 by late Feb.
So I mostly buy the Feb and MAy calls rather than the Dec, Jan calls, to cover the runup to earnings in Feb.
