Long term comparison of AMD price/volume action .
A look at AMD's monthly chart indicates that at no time in AMD's history has the price movement and volume been so strong . The total volume over the last 2 months has been 160 M shares traded , almost equivalent to the previous 4 months from june - sept .
The stock price has also shown virtually no regard for resistance levels . Price levels that in the '96-97 run up took 5-6 weeks to go through , have been shredded in 2-3 weeks . The problem for traders is that if they sell out in anticipating a buy in at lower levels then they could experience what happened last week i.e. a drop to $25.625 followed first thing next day by a gap up of over $2 ,
