I was talking about NT 5.0 now renamed.
Stock prices are not rational. If they were,we should have seen Dow 6500 as all the EXPERTS predicted.
My feeling is that as I predict MSFT going up, a lot of others will also. But- I would take my chances with MSFT rather than those internet stocks.
Look for dow 10000 sometime in December. 10,500 sometime in January 1999.
Nasdaq 100 should do better. This is how I get my MSFT at 150 sometime in January. Possibly 140 by earnings and 150 after stock split announcement. Remember, they announced it when price was 135 last year. THis year they will do it - to counter the DOJ case effect on stock price. Don't expect their usual cautionary statements upon earnings release - for the same reason. Nobody believes it anyways.

LOL

And I don't "remember" that Windows 2000 will be a big money maker -- suppose they gave an upgrade and nobody came? What will its selling point be? People here seem to think Windows 98 is adequate, so what will the motivation be to switch?

Ha ha! Perform this series of vi substitutions for the argument this spring:

:1,$s/98/95/
:1,$s/2000/98/

Remember how big a flop Win98 was going to be? Remember the snobbish reviews panning it as Win95.1? Remember the no-it-all writers saying there was no reason to buy it? Oops. Best selling OS ever so far.
