Since you do not say who is your carrier, I have to speculate even more than usual. The 1900 mhz. Q has been shipped (received at Sprint in Dallas and some other places) but without the firmware; the software should arrive this coming week. I would have no idea when others would receive the phone, but it is now the Christmas selling season so I would think they should be out the door.

The data capability is largely a function of your particular carrier. Text messaging just showed up on Sprint in Dallas about 6 weeks ago. A couple of weeks ago someone posted a url to the Sprint website, where you can send a text message to the phone directly. I tried to find it at www.sprint.com a few minutes ago and couldn't locate the right page. Yes, the carrier will charge.

No idea when the pdQ will be out. I am waiting myself. I know this does not add a lot to the information pool but hope it helps.

What pray tell is "Hunks of Financial TV"? Can we start one called "Hunks of the Qcom Thread?"
