Something else is this convergence thing between television and the internet. The implications for the next five years are that the average homeowner will be able to interface with the net using a simple set-top box and an internet connection without the need of a true PC. Right now, it's a PC, modem, etc., a little pricey. As the hardware requirements become smaller and cheaper, everybody starts shopping on the net. I'm guessing that's where Rogers comes in (in Canada, anyway). Everybody gets a thin slice of the transaction, but it's cost effective, because you don't need a lot of distributed warehousing and inventory, you can contract out delivery, you don't need a lot of sales staff, blah blah. The thing is to get major retailers to sign on, and I'm guessing that's the next step, and that's where this is heading...click: Sears, click: Canada Tire, click: Air Canada, etc., etc. Just a guess.
