My account happens to be with Cable and Wireless; I know that at least AT&T has moved from the unlimited scheme as well.

Here's some reasons why the 150-hr plan is catching hold:

a) It prevents someone from sharing their account with another without a penalty (for example, if someone shares a timed account with others, the group is subject to the 150-hr limit).

b) It helps free limited network resources (modems, telco trunks, etc.).

c) 150 hours is a lot less than you think - 5 hours a day sounds impossible to use up until you start thinking about those all-nighter download sessions, the 18M+ upgrade to IE5, etc., etc.

Who's your ISP? If they have national coverage, I'd switch to them!!!!
