IBM is purchased as part of Index fund managers' requirements. New funds are always forced to buy it. As the market rises, many "chase" it.

Relax, Frank Ellis. Michael's job is to run the company efficiently and profitably, which he has done exceptionally well. He's also done very well by his shareholders, and I for one am willing to let him have his way. If you're a momentum player, you're just going to get whipsawed by every little inflection. Too bad.
Regards,
Stewart
