So even if AOL keeps IE, it is a sign to everyone out there that it is superior to Netscape. It is a win-win situation for MSFT when it comes to browsers. I cannot imagine AOL would gamble with netscape as its primary browser, it is too big of a gamble. The amount of R and D at Msft should ensure they will continue to have a superior browser.

AOL will state that it is keeping IE because of easy sign up from Windows 98 by new users. THis will be used by DOJ for their case.
BUT - I have a feeling that MSFt may be considering a new stategy to counter this excuse. It is just an excuse. AOL knows IE is superior and should leap further ahead (it is that R and D again).
