Yesterday was very interesting. 271K shares traded, almost all at the bid (i.e. sells). That tells me somebody's taking positions, getting ready for the closing on AGE later this month. If it were just pure selling, the bid would have gone much lower....

By the way, there's an internet stock that soared - NAVR - NAVARRE Corporation - doubled on Friday on 21 million shares. They have a music distribution contract with MSH... don't know much else about it. Supposed to go even higher - check out their thread (very active on Yahoo). Taking a company called Net Radio public.

Good investing.

Many people bad mouth Market Makers and Daytraders.....but they are a big part of why a stock goes up. As an example, lets say there is news soon to be out on MSHE. Investors start buying because they know what an incredible value MSHE is for the current price. That can cause a rise in the stock value for MSHE, in itself.
Well, the higher the volume, the more attention MSHE will draw, especially if it happens real quick. Daytraders that notice the move will jump in and have a set goal of when to get out....but MSHE is one in tons of other stocks. Even though that Daytrader is looking for a point to sell to realize a quick profit....the volume that it causes may attract other Daytraders and investors. What may be high to the first DT, may still look inviting to the next DT that decides to jump in. Again, the cycle repeats itself, more volume is created and more investors and Daytraders will be attracted to the Activity of the stock. Now the Market Makers are buying and selling to everyone concerned, so they will love the activity...but the spread will start widening. YOU as an investor may actually be manipulating the stock without even realizing it. As you look for the better price....like putting an order in to buy at the bid...you're, in essence acting almost like the MM in your desire to make a few cents on the buy or sell. The Circle of Life on the great wheel of investing....is interesting, but also very logical. SIS
