It seems to me that when your order was placed it was not at the price which you somehow had been informed that it was at. The price information you get is history when you see it, and sometimes ancient history when a market order is placed.

It would be safer to place a limit order above the price you are seeing. If it isn't filled there are other stocks, and often the one you're hot on will come back. A market order makes you food for the sharks.
