Tim & Thread,

Tim is absolutely right about these stocks all coming back down to earth (crashing). It wasn't too long ago that all the y2k stocks were all flying. Remember ZITL? It had hit 70 intraday (up about 30 - 40 points), closed that day around 40 and now trades around 4 or 5. Check out the 2 year charts on ZITL, TSRI & ACLY (all the same story).

Good luck to anybody staying in the internet stocks. For anybody that's been lucky enough to make some cash, be very happy and don't get too greedy.

Just my thoughts.

Jeff O'Brien

Tim, couln't agree with you more. It *IS* going to end, the question is only when and why..which leads me to my question: In your opinion how and when will it end? I realize that you and nobody else knows and its pure speculation at best. Do you think we will see a 50% (or likely more) in a single day across the entire sector, or will it rotate across the internets over a week or so. Do you think it will occur in conjuntion with a broad based sell-off or just hit the hi-flyers? I have my own opinions, and of course they are just guesses, but just curious what others are thinking? (My own thoughts is that we will see many of the high fliers be half'ed 3-4 days in a row, i.e. EBAY goes to 200 to 100, then 50, then 25, with a possible rebound after that.)

I too have missed out on a few *big* moves (my worst, I sold 10,000 ONSL at 47 after holding for less than 2 hours, have missed out on $500,000 in upside but I sure slept a lot better and to be perfectly honest, I'd do it again).

I myself am only speculating on a small portion of my portfolio, about 20%, the rest is *relatively* safley parked in MSFT, DIS, PAIR, CIEN, CD, BAANF.

FWIW: I think DIS has a possible upside of 50% or more in the next 6-9 months if anyone is interested. The time to buy a great company like this is when no one else wants it, which is NOW. Think about it, how many DEisney products are in your house? (if you have kids).

Happy investing.

Internet Index Options...any strategy suggestions for using this as a hedge for the high-fliers in the net sector? the street.com states the symbol is DOT, but tradepbs.com (where I usually get my options quotes) says that's not a good symbol.

I tried entering the Hi-Tech Index option symbol (MSH) and it worked fine.

Tim - How are users of discount brokers getting taken? Please elaborate.

And,, BTW, your cautionary post is well timed & wise. I hope all listen to it. There are going to be an awful lot of small people suffering MAJOR financial losses in the near future. Man it can take many years to recover from that. This from one who knows.

Regards
rl

To the Thread:

My stinking opinion only:

be very very careful in the weeks to come if your are playing these high flying 10 to 30 point gainers...one day we will wake up and the honeymoon will be over and if you are holding these at the highs you will have a nice 50% haircut.

this WILL NOT last and many of these stock that were 2 bucks and now are 40 will come right back down to earth....i may have lost a chance to make a sh*t load of money by not holding many of these overnight but i'm just as happy day trading them and ending the day with NO stocks.

you may think bamm, navr, eggs, ect.ect will gain another 100% and jump right in at the highs on monday hoping for a home run but the odds are you will get your a** handed to you and it will hurt real hard.

i could come on this thread and others and pump the sh8t out of these and i'm sure many of you will jump right in on the hype....well i will pass on that.

this is not a game, if you want to invest like this you might as well go to vegas instead....this IS NOT investing it's pure gambling.

you and i no NOTHING about these companies that have NO earnings but are shooting to the moon by every mom and pop rookie investor buying a few hundred shares....TRUST me it will all end and the "rookies and mom and pops" will be left holding the bag and guys like me will be long gone.
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

btw- for all of you who trade with discount brokers....you are getting screwed BIG time.....unless you are a a very good trader in the short and long run you will say "what happen to all my money"
