I enter lots of datek orders between 9:30 and 10

Like buy 1 share dell for 1$
wait 40 seconds for it to appear open orders...then cancel it...wait another 2 minutes for cancel to be confirmed...

Then I try buy 1 dell at $2 ... :)

Maybe thats what ties datek up...everyone is doing test trades..not

Yes, check, agree. I am NOT a day trader, but have
experienced in my own small way the agony of the
uncanceled trade.

Sent my Datek pull-out check to deposit yesterday.
Will celebrate when it clears and go on to other
methods.

PS. Some notable praise singers, eg, one R. B., have
disappeared silently. Thank goodness. (Come to think
of it, perhaps the only long-term consistent one, at
that<g>.) Sank without a trace.

<Cost $4500. If I can save 1 person $1> I continue to wonder why any serious day traders stay with Datek. Anyone who is trading at a level where they can lose $4,500 on a single Datek screw up should have graduated beyond browser (slow brokers) by now. Judging from the complaints on this thread it might be more useful if people started posting when Datek servers ARE working before 10:00am!

The following post summed up my thoughts on the matter perfectly:
