Alan,what are the Canadian Forces exactly to do when the so called y2k problems arrive?I always thought forces are there to fight something.What are they going to fight here? If these troops have the answer to the problems which are supposed to arise,why do they not prevent them in the first place?There is more silliness in this y2k discussion than in a mental asylum.

Yup. Our army kan't even spell kompooter but they will be there if the durn things start foulin' up. Coffee and blankets for those who have Y2K rage. They might have to shoot the odd programmer to put him out of his misery. What they are chiefly concerned about is looting from the stores as none of the morning staff's digital watches will get them out of bed to open up. When they realize its 1901 they will shut down as they haven't been invented yet. I understand they are deploying paratroopers, veterans of Somalia, whom they have been keeping in basements, feeding raw meat and whipping with a towel. Say "sir" when you go through that road block or you will be wearing a bayonet as a suppository. EC<:-}
