Congrats on the great return this year. I am doing a measly 58%, but I have what was a balanced portfolio with tech, drugs, banking, and consumer products. I don't margin, short, put or call, either. My tech (CSCO, MSFT, LU, NTAP, PMCS, INTC, to name the biggest holdings) have done so well, that my portfolio is no longer "balanced", with tech accounting for over 60%. My techs are all long term holds, with about 25K to speculate with, currently in MSPG.

I can't be too concerned about "what the market does", as I long ago gave up timing the market, so (you know the drill), I buy good companies that have long term growth opportunities. (I am into CPQ now and waiting patiently.)

All this MSFT-hate talk has been going on since I bought my first 60 shares in April, 1993. I should not have ever let it influence my investment then, and I don't let it have much influence now. The main question I ask is, "if I sell MSFT is there a better place for my money over a 5-year period?" At the moment I am cautions about MSFT and extremely bullish about CSCO, but I do not plan to sell MSFT unless some factor of which I am not aware appears.

If MSFT gives me 25%/year. I will be happy. (Boy! are we spoiled or just plain crazy?)
