I think the view that we are going to be profitable in the quarter or the half year based on the Sanyo royalty is overly ambitious. I need to see signs that we're starting to get real royalties and licensing fees on other contracts before I'm going to believe that.

I bought a few hundred shares as I was feeling enthusiastic about the the LEO possibilities with Al Haig, Inc. That seems to be headed not very far right now. A deal like that working out would be a huge boost to EDC. That's the sort of thing that's needed in the market place. $4m in royalties isn't going to go very far with a company which is as ambitious as this one.

Stan Ovshinsky developed what is stated as a vastly superior next generation type of major breakthrough in Flash memory technology that is considerably better and cheaper than the current Flash technology. ECD has been shopping around for a "partner", because of the megabucks it takes to go into production.

As the world continues to make the transition from analog to digital
so goes the Flash chip market. And this market is booming. ECD is hopeful they can attract the right type of partnership arrangement that they have been working towards for several years now, as they continue to improve upon their proprietary technology.

All we really have is a prototype of this new Flash technology.
I'm hopeful that perhaps we will be lucky enough to be in the right place, at the right time, with the right technology. For those of you that may not be familiar with Intel's co-founder, Gordon Moore, he
predicted three decades ago what is now referred to as Moore's law,
that improvements in semiconductor technology mean that chip performance doubles every eighteen months. This is what has enabled the twenty percent price cuts by Intel every time production has doubled. And, Intel is still the worlds largest chip mfg'r.
That task is now growing significantly more difficult with the same old technology, thereby improving our prospects for our new Flash chips, in my personal opinion.

There are times when superior technology is simply not enough, as we all know. Sometimes plain old fashioned luck is what it takes, coupled
with the right technology. In this case all we can do is hope for that
well deserved break that is well overdue for Stan and ECD.

Regards.
