Wiley, The two bean charts (monthly cash vs. may futures) don't directly relate to each other. Well... think of the monthly as a map of the globe, and the futures a map of NYC... the same planet, but different perspective. It is very worthwhile to do a cash analysis alongside the futures. For beans, that would mean using the cash #1 yellow soybeans recorded daily at Decatur, Illinois, imo. That dataset goes back, daily, to the mid 60's, but unfortunately I don't have it. The close is listed in WSJ and IBD. I am working on obtaining it... and currently for my own trading I check cash quotes over the weekend so I can keep a rough weekly range of cash prices in mind. I would prefer to have the dataset so I could look at pretty CASH charts with my futures charts. I agree about cotton looking good... I am waiting for a good buy setup which should be near. Talk to you later Regards, Frank P.S. I ate a lot of turkey... it was great... tough to find good home cooking at college so I appreciated the meal with the fam.
