I agree with you that when IBM has an account, they have much influence regarding what software to use - they will push their own software of course. However, a competitor of IBM in the service business would choose MSFT if it has a comparable product. If the competitor pushes IBM's software, I believe a client may think that they should have gone directly to IBM for the whole business. This fear of the service provider would definately help MSFT. MSFT is going to continue opening up competition in the service business. Their products will do great since they are not in competition with these companies. Remember IBM is targeting mid size businesses.
This is why the service business may not be that rosy for IBM in the long run.

Toy
How do I put some of your quotes in my response to you. Is there some sort of copy command?

I appreciate any help from a fellow Canadian.

Sorry I made an error in my response to you. I meant to say that IBM is also targeting mid size companies as well as the biggies.

>MSFT is not a big threat to ORCL at all.

You exaggerate again. MSFT is definitely a threat to ORCL. They question is how much of a threat. Get real Toy!

>Tech, I hate saying this, but your depth in this field is not deep. You seem to have attended a lot of MSFT Brainwashing sessions. It good you have come on the SI board to learn the other side.

Why must you take the "holier than thou" attitude? Someone engages with you and you flame. Remember that the second letter of "SI" stands for "investor", and you obviously have no skill nor commitment to that side of the equation. You are a crusader for NOVL in a holy war. Irrationality spiced by a few facts and a lot of opinion is the basis to your campaign. I suggest you edit your postings more carefully and take the emotion and exaggeration out of them. You will save yourself some serious embarrassment down the road.
