If you are day trading, i would recommend that you open an account with MB Trading. E-Trade is good but you won't get the type of executions you get with MB Trading. With MB Trading you get free Level II if you do 50 trades/month too. One disadvantage with MB Trading is that they don't accept stops on NASDAQ stocks. Even though I rarely use them after getting screwed by the market makers several times, there are cases where I would if I could. I was told that they will be adding this feature in the future but I don't know when.

I very seldom use market orders and from some of the things I've read here today, I think I will be using them a lot less. It's a lot safer to just enter an order a little above the ask to ensure a fill in a fast market.
