Mr. K. Crosby reports
A 1,000 metre diamond drill program has commenced on the Road zone
approximately 3,000 metres southwest of the original Cross Lake discovery
zone to test a series of pulsed EM (PEM) conductors and strong induced
polarization anomalies that extend for over 800 metres in strike length.
Several mise-a-la-masse anomalies occur in association with the PEM - IP
trends and are interconnected by resistivity lows which represent intense
sericite alteration possibly hosting disseminated to massive sulphides.
Previous drilling reported by Cross Lake has located important copper and
zinc mineralization 1,200 metres to the northeast of this target area along
the regional IP trend that defines and hosts the Cross Lake zone. Another
drill hole on the west boundary of the property intersected an important
rhyolite fragmental similar to that found adjacent to the Cross Lake
discovery as well as massive pyrite zones with elevated gold values hosted
in sericite schists with abundant green mica alteration. Anomalous zinc and
copper values were also encountered.
The size of the property and the extent of the Cross Lake trend (over seven
kilometres) is equivalent to the extent of the Noranda camp and the
Thomson-Bousquet trend respectively, where over 15 base metal mines and 17
gold mines occur. Sulphide deposits in these camps occur in clusters or
groups and are often repeated along a structural trend. Therefore, it is
possible that several zones are hosted within the trend, justifying
continued exploration.
Golden Knight Resources (60 per cent) is the operator for the joint venture
with East West Resource Corporation holding 16 per cent, Cross Lake
Minerals holding 16 per cent, and Canadian Golden Dragon holding 8 per cent
interest.
