Melinda,

I like London too, He was tough and caring..All my favorites were,
tough and caring except for Miller,

One time London was quoted as saying, "I can cure the ills of
America, just put me in a room with the presidents of the 5 or 10 largest corporations and give me a canthook." Something to that effect.. Well a canthook or peevee is tool with a big steel hook on the end of a 5' handle used by
loggers to roll logs.. My dad was a big fan. He made me a free thinker, a liberal rancher and union man he was, a strange and wonderful combination..

About 10 years ago we went to Jack London square and got drunk..
Just for the hell of it and in his honor. . Yuppiefied, of course,
but I didn't care, Mary didn't care and I'm sure Jack didn't care..

Good bye now.. the Coug

<<I like Jack London also. >>

I remember saving enough from lunch to buy a small bag of M and Ms and a fountain Coke. Rode the bus home and sat in the basement and read a Jack London story. Something about a sea captain going blind and was made into a movie where Edward G. Robinson went blind and Clarke Gable was the hero. God I had a sick childhood.
