<font size=+2 color=blue>To all my friends here</font> I sent Bob Rice a longer private email basically saying I wouldn't feel right giving away specific stock recomendations when many are now paying me for this. I am not sure how others handle this so excuse my "bull in a china shop" ways at times as I make the transition from engineer to whatever. On Monday Nov 30, 1998 I will serve my last day in the employ of HP and will leave on great terms with 1 years salary and 4 months vacation pay as a severance package. (I was very lucky to get this). Many want me back and I can return in 2 years, but I really want to work for myself where I can take lots of time off to windsurf and work my own hours. Due to good investment decisions, I am in semi critical mass (I am at critical mass in most areas other than where the average house sells for $800K). I like Los Altos, CA so I plan to work and live there but I will work for myself and for clients that pay me to help implement an investment strategy that allows them to leave their jobs as I have. For the past several years, I have been working on several projects that allowed me to leave. I advise some investors, write for Suite101.com and will work with an investment radio show to help them with some new, exciting ideas I've had where we will look at merging the best of the internet and radio (not Brinker). I may do some cruises even where people pay to cruise to nice places and hear about investing (I am not much of a cruiser but I have been asked to do this and it could be fun). I have been approached with and have had many other ideas so it will be fun to pick and choose what to work on. What a life! I tell you all this as I feel you are my friends and my discussions here with many over the years has helped me make the right investment decisions. For this, I thank you! kind regards Kirk
