JP, Yahoo has half the market cap of Boeing. Yahoo's sales roughly amount to one 747 per year. Boeing's only real competition is Airbus Industrie( backed by tax money from european countries). The barrier to entry is somewhat formidable. The barrier to entry for Internet portals is the cost of a server and catchy name. I think it's futile to apply any logic to the internet sector, so I don't try. I just ride the crazy horse and keep ready to jump ! By the way I have no interest in owning Boeing, just thought it made a nice example. I think you could fit all of Yahoo's employees in a 747, talk about market cap per employee !
