Market orders are often the only way to get into a fast moving stock. I generally use limit orders but when I want in a stock that I believe has much further upside and it is moving fast I use a market order. Otherwise I would probably miss the boat completely.

JUST4: Never is a very strong word. I will place market orders on some issues that are very active. But usually only with issues I am familiar with such as: CPQ, CIEN, FORE, DELL, etc. You try it on an issue such as GRIN and your head will be handed to you.

Good luck

Market orders placed before the open are, in my personal experience, deadly. More often than not, the opening gap is what you buy at, followed by a steep decline. I took a hit last week with BFLY. Live and learn...

Good luck to us all!
