Still off topic:

Ever lived in a lower-tax country? Like Indonesia? Guatemala? Burmuda (outside the tourist zone)?

You mean where the dogs wait for you to take a crap, so they have something to eat? Yes.

I suppose you're right when it comes to the hot lunch program though. Why can't those worthless little beggars eat cake like the rest of us? Or at least Wendy's, to help out my portfolio? As for federally funded urban transportation, airport control, and the like, to hell with 'em. Everybody oughta be driving a Chrysler -- the epitome of a self-reliant corporate giant that never soaks the taxpayer. Right?

Actually, I thinking of the 4th generation welfare families, contributing nothing to the economy, let alone the country. Before this Socialist adventure called The Great Society or a "social safety net" was started, a home could afford to have a single wage earner. As the tax bite got larger and larger, and as the government pissed away trillions and caused rampant inflation, we find (usually) mom had to leave the home to make ends meet. If WPA was good enough for our fathers and grandfathers, why isn't it OK for our children and grandchildren? May not be much of a job, but at least we would have clean highways and parks. Probably a few new hydroelectric generation facilities as well to make up for all the pollution those Cryslers dump into the air. ;-)

Lived outside U.S., 2 yrs. in Peace Corp, 2 as local hire, non U.S. dollar salary in Brazil and 10 as contract employee in area of small farmer credit. In brief I have seen how a governments intervention to lower the price of credit an fertilizer results in shortages of both. I have seen how people feel freer in a dictatorship.

Many laws that most think are designed to protect the public were also designed to make it harder for others to enter the field and at the same time create opportunities for corruption.

I could go on and on. Do I agree we must have some sort of government? Yes, sure. But if you don't think working until May, to pay all taxes, is a bit strange, then we part company.

Would any biotech be better of with a government grant or with the FDA focused only on safety?

But, lets go back to the move to Bermuda. <g> Does the existing tax loss get applied against royalty income or is it only useable for operating income?
