CB,

I'm not very good on time zones - we're about 12 hours ahead of you, though the exact gap depends on where exactly in the US you are.

I wouldn't want to represent myself as being typical of males, but I have noticed that women seem to take much more interest in the personal lives of celebrities then men do. This is a generalization, and doubtless defective, but I think there is substance to it. Men may lust after an actress, and spend time discussing her physical features (which are, after all, the only things they know about her), but I can't imagine them wanting to know the details of her personal life. An extreme case would be the furor over Diana, which I - and most of my male friends - found wholly incomprehensible. I miss Zappa and Gerry Garcia a lot more.

Not drawing any conclusions from this, just observing, wondering what others think. At least we're not talking about religion any more...

;-)

Steve

Blue, I am over forty as well. I guess I do like men who are a little younger than I am, at least to look at. Certainly I am not attracted to men in their teens and twenties like Leonardo di Caprio, however. I have never really been attracted to men who are much older than I am, which I know is a little unusual, since most men marry men who are older. My husband is almost three years younger than I am, although at the time we got married it did not seem significant. I wonder if it will be in the future, during the period of RAPID AGING, though. I know that I am starting to get things like night blindness, and prefer not to drive at night. Since his eyes aren't changing yet the way mine are, he thinks I am making it all up or turning into an old granny before his eyes, or both!

Rutger Hauer used to be sort of cute! I know what you mean about him looking pretty scary recently, but I saw him in a movie fifteen or twenty years ago where he was very sexy. I wish I could remember the name of it.

I have one daughter, and no sons, so I guess no taboos come to mind when I ponder younger men. But really, the ones reasonably close to my own age are the most appealing to me. How do you feel about Jeremy Irons, or Daniel Day Lewis? I don't really get excited just by looks; it is much more appealing if the man is nice and kind, and has done lovely things with his life. I guess by that definition I should mention Woody Harrelson even though he is way too young for me, because he supports the hemp movement and environmental causes. I used to think William Hurt was pretty fine, but totally went off him when I found out that he beat his wife.

Now I am very curious. What is the Dreaded Brother-in-Law like?
