With BAMM trading around $40/share, I am not sure why you are complaining that you bought it at $18 1/2, I'd like to have that problem. Fact of the matter is that sometimes a market order is necessary if you want to get a fast moving stock, I don't rely on them, but they have their usefulness at times...

With a limit order of 16 3/4, the best you would have ended up with is your 500 shares at 16 1/2. There's no way you would have gotten the other 500.

;-)...I've had the same problem in the past. It's better to pick your own entry price than to have the MM's and your broker do it.
