Thanks for the reply, jim. I think you must have come into the middle of the conversation.

The "phone booths" I was talking about are remote boxes my phoco uses in my very rural location. I wish they WERE DSLAMs -- that would mean there was hope for a 20th Century digital connection instead of the smoke signals we use now. <G>

No, the "phone booths" are stuffed with backup batteries and various PC cards. There are several of them between me and the CO, which is about 30 miles away. I assume the remotes are amplifier and multiplexer stations, but I really don't know. My main question is whether these "phone booths" could house G-lite equipment, or if there was something special about a CO that required the equipment to be housed there. Next, assuming that the "phone booths" COULD be used for DSL "magic boxes" I was curious whether the equipment cost would be excessive.
