Christine,
I don't want to jump to Lot's defense but I do want to be accurate. The events surrounding Lot and his daughters were that the daughters wanted their family line to continue, their motive was not perversion and lust which what they did would be considered by today's standards, Genesis 19:31-32, "Our father is old, and their is not a man on earth to come into us after the manner of the earth. Come, let us make our father drink wine, and let us lie with him, that we may preserve our family through our father."
The first daughter got her father drunk with wine, Genesis 19:33 "and he did not know when she lay down and when she arose" and and the younger daughter also 35, "and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose". It seems they knew they had to get their father good and drunk to accomplish their purpose. That supports the conclusion that Lot would not have been willing to do what the daughters wanted if they asked. They had to get him dead drunk. And I don't see how this event can be used to accuse God of any wrong doing, He had nothing to do with it.

Am I ranting? <ggg>

Bob

Sorry I agree a married man should be faithful for mutual trust, however more lack that ability than have it. So I do not expect but merely hope. I just don't buy her as an innocent child and his victim.
I think it was mutual consent.
