Dodger, Once the blinders are put on, no logic makes sense. May I inject more "nonsense" to your illustration? That is if UBID opens at 90, the MMs as well as individual investors/gamblers will be selling MALL short too. So you have the longs cashing out, the shorts selling short.

BTW, I wonder why COOL sold off on Friday? Could it be the first to rise is also the first to fall?

Regards,

Tom

dodger, this is a good point and confirms me in what I called the WCAP-COOL mess earlier.

When I suggested a "suckers open" when ubID hits the market, quickly dropping the bids,... where do you expect MALL trading?

Let's say UBID trades at 25 on IPO day...and what are your plans? Most likely run like a rabbit for the nearest exit and take those juicy MALL profits.

Milliseconds after the uBID is displayed on the L2 screen, the MALL prices will adjust IF NOT BEFORE. And the MMs will know where to place MALL when the uBID equilibrium price is build up based on order entry signalled to them.
There are no profits to take in MALL if uBD does really a low $25 open for any unknown reason, except the lack of buyers.

(Finally I believe that the underwriters will do anything to shore up the uBID price, as they have to fulfill some expectations. But I leave my estimation unchanged that MALL is now fair valued based in uBIDs opening).

With finally 250% taken out in MALL I had to reduce risk by any means. Transfer that thought to others and it should explain the selloff on friday in part.

C.
