Re: ALYD and 60 Minutes

You may recall Kevin Maney of USA Today's article last August entitled "Breakthrough may help squish Y2K bug". It was about Data Integrity and their supposed revolutionary mathematical approach to curing Y2K. Gruder got so upset that Data Integrity was getting credit for only partially doing recently what ALYD had been doing for years that he wrote a letter to the editor: #reply-5440910. It was shortly thereafter that 60 Minutes interviewed Data Integrity. ALYD found out, got hold of 60 Minutes, and the program sent a producer over to tour ALYD and interview Bob. The meeting went well and 60 Minutes set up a time for Steve Kroft to visit. That next meeting never happened and ALYD never heard back from them. I think this was around mid September.

So, who knows whether 60 Minutes will still focus on Data Integrity, or, in that context, mention ALYD. Originally I was worried 60 Minutes was going to downplay the problem as a "cure" had been found, but the recent promos for the show make me think they've concluded just the opposite. As long as they don't make light of Y2K survivalists it should at least get people -- and more importantly, Wall Street -- talking. My fingers are crossed.
