Yup, as this internet frenzy gather's further steam, it
will blow. With all the good feelings before X-MAS,
it would be incumbent for Santa to turn off the lights.

My guess is he does so after getting pissed
going through all those damn chimneys.

It will be ugly and I am willing to pay handsomely to the person who tells me why and when. What will be the crowing realization that makes these things fall 40% in a week? The slow down in corporate profits? The changing of margin requirements? I think I am going to propose a contest where SI'ers take a stab at those two questions. If somebody gets why right they get $2,000 and if they get the timing down at least two days before it happens as to which week it is I'll pay another $2,000. IF they get both right, they get $5,000.

Three people other than myself judge who the one or two people that got it right are. Each member gets 3 tries and numbers it as such at the beginning of their post. They can post more than three times on the new thread, but ONLY the numbered threads get counted. The five names that combined that would need to be down 40% from their peaks would be AMZN (credit to impristine), YHOO, AOL, EBAY and CMGI. Suggestions?
If people like the idea and we tighten up the rules, I'll start a new thread and we can appoint judges who most people think are righteous folk. Let's go!
