Actually Microsoft thinks Java is a great language - but of course thats as far as they want to admit - as far as Java the Platform - If i remember Bill said something like "Java scares the #&%$!!! out of me" - i dont think he was referring to Java the programming language. Of course Microsoft paid Sun $17M for their java license so they must have thought something of it to have tried to poison it and break Java's cross platform capability. Corel was pretty much on its last legs in the office suite market and made a decision to componetize some of its software - were they early on Java - maybe - was that the reason for their problems - no.
