DD, I use a cable modem thru Intermedia Cable at that speed. But the funny thing is, a 400Mghz PC with 256Mg RAM, 8Mg video card and a 56k modem appears to run nearly as fast as an 850k cable modem when running AOL. It seems that the speed of the servers delivering the data bear more on the speed the screen paints than the equipment used for access.

AOL looks same at 56k as 850k, due to their slow [relative] servers.

For REAL speed, you need to access sites with blazing server speeds, such as At Home Network, where photos paint instantly and downloads come in seconds not minutes.

Sort of like driving a Lamborghini in the suburbs, where every 100 yards there is a stop sign. Defeats the purpose. . .
