rudedog...RE: estimates for Q4...

My Q4 revenue estimates are also for around 10B.

If the analyst also expect this revenue than their .36 est.
calculates a 6.25% net profit.

My calculation is for 7% @ 10B revenues which would translate
into a $.40299 per share quarter.

Is your 20% reduction of .57 and then averaging (.36-.46)
reducing the initial net profit estimate of 9%????

In any case our estimates are similar. This would be positive
for the stock price.

What was the net profit for DEC, Q4 - '97?

Loki

Thanks, dog.

I feel more comfortable with some texture to the estimates... I wonder if we might collaborate here on getting some nuts and bolts data from various sources and integrating this data for refinements down the line. Your've indicated what the major variables are, and which are ambiguous or unknown. Now, what could CPQ do in the next month to influence the revenue outcome significantly? EG.,will the discount for shareholders increase sales by a significant amount? Anything else lurking about that might give it a boost or roost?

Rudedog - Have you heard anything more about the job situation at CPQ? At various times over the past few months, we have heard figures of around 17k for job cuts. Last I read, CPQ has done around 5k. Could this imply things are behind plan here, or might it imply that business is stronger and the layoffs have been cut back?

Thanks,
John
