JP,

You're right, FMR is Fidelity Management & Research Co. They have been a major position holder in SMTC for a long time as you know. They became a 10% holder back in July of 1997, and they either held through the hell maintaining their 10% position through the split, or they were very nimble and were able to play the game very well.

The conference call was VERY bullish, so the institutions well know what is going to be coming up the next quarter, and it appears well into 1999. The reason I say this is because much of the revenue from this quarters sales will show up in Q1 of FY00 (wow, it's wierd typing those two 0's). Sales from the 1144 should be very big, and there was other design wins that will begin generating revenue in Q1 FY00.

Oh well ... I've been through the mud before, if it happens again, I'll just add some more. I don't see it happening though! Like John M said, the technicals appear mixed to me as well. I saw that and I DID feel the urge to sell the first time MACD topped a little while ago. That was right prior to earnings being released ... and well the rest is history. I remember back in August of 1997 institutional sponsership was 21%, so it's important to remember the big boys are really just finding out about SMTC now. Enjoy the ride ... I think its gonna be a GREAT December and January :o)

Regards, JB

Thanks, I thought it might be Fidelity, but it specifically says FMR Corp. I couldn't match that up with anything.
