Sounds like the Indonesian scam that has been going on for years, where they send a letter stating they have a large chunk of money that they need to deposit in an american bank account but they need you to wire them some money to make it legit.

Sorry, it was the Nigerian scam I was thinking of. I had Bre-x on the brain when I said Indonesia.
