Emile, you want to know what Judaism is? just one thing: "Ve'Ahavta Lere'eicha Kamocha". Sure there was a book written in the middle ages "Toldot Yeshua" (long long after the Talmud was sealed, mind you), and there are also hundred of Kabalah books, and beautiful writings of Maimonides that never mention the name of Jesus. And on the Christian side there have been hundreds of books depicting Jews as sacrificers of Humans, human blood consumers, devils and what not. Am I castigating the whole Chrstianity for the pulmus of the few? All these are nice and good material for various theologians but the essence of Judaism does not change because one few spited Jews like Donin and Frydland turn on their owns, for whatever reasons, fear of death or revelation. The essence of Judaism is more eternal then few latter books, it is very simply: And Thou Shall Love Your Brother like you love yourself. Why do you listen to one Frydland, why not go and extract that piece of scroll in a Tefilin or a Mezuza and read it for yourself. Why don't you go and listen to a Dying Jew's last expiration, it is the same all the world Over: "Shema Israel, Adonai Elohenu, Adonai Echad! VeAhavta LeRe'eicha Kamocha ....".
