First I have heard of that one. Wouldn't surprise me though. It may be because of the different income tax and capital gains thing instead of language.

Anyone have any suggestions besides leaving the province after the Parti Quebecois wins the election tomorrow???

Do you know anyone in Ontario or another province? May I suggest using their address as your mailing address for your account, if you trust them. You can register on-line, and send a money order instead of a cheque.

Regards, Wisam

<<Does anyone here live in Quebec? Spoke to e-trade in Toronto
on Friday...word is they can't sign up Quebec residents because
of Provincial language bs.>>

Talk about it. I'm stuck with InvestorLine and GreenLine. No E-Trade. No CT Securities. No anything not big banks cause you need an office in Quebec to trade securities here (stupid Quebec laws).

The only bright side is that you sure learn to anticipate the market, knowing that even market orders will not be filled before a few minutes. And that's when you can log on...
