Seems to me you may be right ... The internet mania may be short lived - but the internet is here to stay. Some of these second tier may get hurt before the week is out, but it seems we have at least another day or two - if not more - ahead. Stocks like EBAY and ONSL are pretty secure - downside yes - but probably will pick up on any dips (remember how far YHOO fell before it went up, up and then some). There are so many premarket orders in for stocks like NAVR, ALMI, SHRP, OMKT, IFLY, CYCH, etc. that I think we are safe for awhile. As for stop orders ... when these things go down fast - or if they should open on the downside due to any negative news - they can open below your stop target and you are stuck. Has happened to me. On the positive side, I think that even if these should drop, there are a lot of investors (traders) that missed the move the first time around, and will go for these on dips. I remember AOL and YHOO going down about 30 points, and now they are up about more than twice that - these stocks are here to stay and the weak ones will either be gobbled up by the bigger fish or they will go under. But I don't think that's today or even tomorrow. Just my opinion, of course.

I have never shorted. But I am not blind. Bears are smacking their lips just waiting to pounce on some of these internets, driving the prices back and stealing our profits. Now I don't have any idea WHEN they will pounce or whether they will attack one stock at a time or make a concerted effort on all internets. But to stick your head in the sand would not change anything. It will happen sooner or later. And many here that are buying internets furiously will short sell just as furiously when it turns around. As fast as these stocks go up, they can drop even faster. All I am saying is STAY ALERT. If you are buying, then going to work and checking when you get home, then you will get what you deserve. There are some fabulous gains to be had, but you MUST sell to take a profit. As I said before: Stay alert when shooting fish in a barrel.
