Cisco uses 37 "virtual" manufacturing facilities, and has only two of its own. I wonder if MRVC is valued the way it is in part due to the entirely different (from CSCO) culture, operations, etc...

MRV is almost what CSCO is NOT.

Let's see... CSCO does over 70% of its business over the web.
(as a matter of fact, CSCO does everything it can over the web.)

Can we order an NBase switch online from NBase?

Does this imply CSCO is capitalizing on the Internet frenzy?
CSCO now has higher PE than Microsoft!

These comments are just for thought, and do not reflect in-depth analysis. I see a lot of differences between CSCO and MRVC. The comparison is probably meaningless.

Time for bed... I want to run at 5:30 am tomorrow.

One other thing...

Since the long awaited LU acquisition of ASND looks like it will not play out - because both have 70% and 74% of their business in the US, respectively - and LU needs a partner with a more world wide presence;

Then, MRVC could become a more attractive partner for ASND, since the products generally are more complementary (when comparing core business products.) And MRVC could boost the international presence of ASND.

good night,
